Nice shampoo but that is about it

Thick, nice texture, smells really nice, lathers easily creating really thick foam, rinses easily. In regards to reducing the frizz, not to sure. If I didnt know what I was using would defo not point out anti fizz properties. Good shampoo but doesnt deserve smoothing title. Maybe should give it more credit and use it for bit longer, might be just my hair type.

Gentle shampoo but doesn't tackle frizz..

I was really looking forward to using the Alterna shampoo as bang on trend like BPA-Free is to modern day plastic marketing, it had the key marketing words "free of sulphates, parabens and even 'free of Gluten' now that did make me laugh..I'm not going to digest it! But more importantly to me was that it was an "anti frizz shampoo" this is what I was really looking for not the excess sulphate free tags. etc I have thick long strong hair with natural wave in it and often gets frizz near the roots where some hairs may be shorter or have curled due to humidity. So I wanted a shampoo that would address that issue. Anyway, back to the product:- Positives - It had a lovely fresh smell, not over powering and quite light , not overly fragrant like a pantene hair shampoo for example. It cleaned my hair perfectly as any shampoo would as they have cleaning agents in them. Negatives:- Unfortunately for me it did not do what it was supposed to. It is sold as an " Anti -Frizz" shampoo. But it made no difference at all to my frizz. It also contains dimethicones (silicone derived emollients) to add the shine. I'd prefer my hair to shine naturally from being clean and reflecting the light rather than with dimethiciones adding shiny wax to them. This is cheating, good in short term but damaging to hair in long term. Its a vicious cycle you tackle one thing the create another problem, all good for hair industry in the West though;) I'm unsure whether I needed to purchase the anti-frizz conditioner with it? Instead I purchased another Alterna conditioner (that was superb btw to make hair sleek (but not frizz free)) called Caviar Replenishing Moisture conditioner. I have had better results from L'oreal No Sulphates range for what they call 'Very Dry Rebelious hair) Careful styling or use of hair oil eg a standard coconut oil does get rid of my frizz but I was hoping a shampoo would eliminate or realistically reduce the frizz, not so with my hair, hence the 3 star rating. I will continue to use it and amend my rating if it improves but very much doubt it will on my hair.
